Thanksgiving

Two days from now, American social norms force us to celebrate a national holiday called Thanksgiving. We use this holiday to give thanks for the many blessings we have enjoyed throughout our lives.

Perhaps one of the largest blessings I have been given was the opportunity to participate and continually witness our initiation ritual. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing new brothers become a part of the bond we hold so dear.

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with a new initiate from our Zeta at UNLV. His enthusiasm for our fraternity, even through some tough times has never waned. It made me proud to sit and talk to him about his experiences through association and his initiation.

The youthful enthusiasm exhibited by new initiates is perhaps one of the most amazing things I have seen as a Brother of the Bond. This vigor, especially for our fraternity has continually shown me that the future of this fraternity is great.

For me, and for all of us, this is definitely something to be thankful for.
