Omega Financial For Alumni Organizations

The men of Phi-Alpha Zeta at Eastern Illinois University have hired Omega Financial to work with our alumni board on raising funds, creating a new website and managing our alumni newsletter. We are in the beginning stages of this process and so far I am very impressed in what they have done. We contacted some chapters before we signed our agreement that currently use this organization and they swear by them. Our goal is raise money to help fund our various scholarships and our alumni board operations for various events.

I wanted to see if any other chapters have used Omega in this role as it was new to me. Our undergraduate chapter has used them for many years now and it has been a very successful relationship. Our chapter finances are in great shape and Omega is a big part of that. If your alumni chapter is using Omega now, I would like to hear about your experience. Please let us know. Thanks!

What’s your web site for this? I’d be interested in seeing what you are doing, and hearing more about your results.

Frankly, I have concerns about outsourcing fundraising activities…

We (Epsilon-Upsilon at University of Tulsa) just signed up for Omega Fi a couple days ago as well… furthermore, we are currently establishing an alumni association… I was wondering, to what capacity are you hoping to use Omega with your alumni group?

Our undergraduate chapter has used Omega to much success for the last five years now. They no longer have to worry about debt. As for our alumni association, Omega will be taking care of our newsletter, website and fund raising campaign. We hope they handle those areas with lots of success. We still have alumni officers as we have other matters that need to be handled. Omega is going to handle the areas we don’t have the time to handle anymore. I will update as we proceed with them. Take care!

My chapter actually used Omega for a couple years. But when I was appointed to Tau I found out that the charges were fairly high and that people were always tired of getting the statements.

After surveying the chapter, I found that most people didn’t even log into their account and never even looked at the statements.

I feel like a pro-active Tau can do better without Omega and save the chapter the 8% charge which can add up to a large amount with 60-70 actives.

Furthermore if you wanted a website, like Omega has created, you could easily use the money to build that site from a website design student and save additional money. But, for Omega’s sake their customer service is very good and they will help you with whatever you need. But at a cost!

Essentially, if its best for the chapter then go for it.
