Update on the Mentor Program
December 14th, 2005 by Kevin Piket. Popularity: 9%.I hope everyone is enjoying these last couple of weeks of 2005. I wanted to send out a quick update on the Joseph T. Charles Mentor Leadership Program. This program has grown tremendously over the last year as we have made many improvements. Here are how the numbers line up for the entire program; we have 977 Mentees, 386 Mentors and 72 Mentee/Mentors.
Although the program has increased quite a bit over the last year, we definitely need more Mentors to sign up. If you know of any alumni members who are not a Mentor and should be, please direct them to the website. We are excited for an even stronger 2006, but that will only happen with the active participation from the Mentors and Mentees. For those of you who are in the program, you will be receiving an email with a link to a survey evaluating the Mentor Program shortly. Please take time to complete this survey as it will be very useful for the committee. The changes that we have made over the last year came directly from feedback we received from the brothers in the program.
We do have some exciting things to report in the near future. High Alpha’s and High Pi’s please look for a promotional packet in the mail after the first of the year with some useful material on the Mentor Program and a CD discussing the highlights of the program. This CD can be used during recruitment events to show potential members another value added service our fraternity can offer them. We will also be rewarding select chapters for their participation in the program at the General Assembly this summer and the top chapters in each category will receive a scholarship to attend future leadership conferences.
The Mentor Program can be a huge asset during recruitment, so please talk about it. This is something the majority of your competition does not have and for the ones who do, it is not at the same level as ours. If you have any questions, please email me directly at k7piket@hotmail.com. If you want to sign up for the program please take five minutes and go to http://www.joecharlesmentorprogram.org/registration.cfm to register. It is very easy and something you will benefit from whether you are a Mentor or Mentee.
Have a great holiday season!!

Brother Kevin as You know I have been signed up for some time and tell other Brothers when I can.
I have contacted Mentees in My area, but as of yet, I have had no luck in making contact with any young members.
It is an outstanding program that should be continually pushed.

Thanks Tom, I appreciate your involvement in the program. We are exploring ways to get members more connected in this program. We are hoping to get some good information from the survey that will be out shortly. Thanks again for your support!
