December 2005 Cross & Crescent

December 2nd, 2005 by Jason Pearce. Popularity: 5%.

The second electronic edition of the Cross & Crescent is now available. Here are a few interesting features of this edition:

Paul Harvey

The cover story is on Paul Harvey (Culver-Stockton 1939). Harvey received the Presidential Medal of Freedom on November 9, 2005. Now that the C&C is monthly, we have greater opportunity to publish timely content. Cool fact: Medal of Freedom was created by a Lambda Chi and three have received it.

Tom Meeks

Tom Meeks (Butler 1963) recently retired from the USGA as its senior director of rules and competitions. Meeks is likely the world’s greatest expert on the rules of golf. He lives just 10 miles from headquarters.

Food Drive

I can’t believe we collected three million pounds of food. Sadly, fewer chapters participated.

Headquarters 50 Years Ago

Mike Raymond (Miami-OH 1967) once again wrote a great story for the History department. But what I love, is the interactive map using Google Map’s API. With an electronic version of the magazine, we’re now able to offer some cool, wiz-bang enhancements to stories.

The C&C Team hopes you like it. If you are a talented writer or editor and would like to help us create upcoming issues, please be sure to contact me to volunteer your time.
