Chartering done… now time to grow!

Harp and Hoskins with the Charter... two very proud gentlemen.Wow. It’s unbelievable that I’ve only been a Lambda Chi for only a year now. We were colonized and associated on April 28, 2005 and we recently celebrated our chartering this past Friday on April 28, 2006. It was an awesome event, celebrating not only the fact that we were getting chartered, but we were also celebrating our first anniversary:)

As our Standards/Chartering Chair for the first year, I couldn’t wait to get to the point of chartering… and then the past two months have been a point where I couldn’t wait until it was over:) The compilation of our application (a whole 97 pages!), the planning of the banquet, interacting with San Diego area Alumni, it was all a lot of work, but it was all well worth the end results. We have a motto that we live by at Pi-Beta Zeta… Work Hard, Play Harder (kind of reflects Calepa ta Kala); and I’m proud to be part of a brotherhood where this is true.

With the banquet over, we are solidify the foundation we have been building over the past year, and will focus now on growing: growing in our brotherhood, our events, our civic engagements… everything! It was amazing the group of gentlemen that our expansion coordinator, Josh Lodolo, put together. With the amazing work we have done over the past year and the incredible support we have had from headquarters, I can guarentee that you will see Pi-Beta Zeta a contender for upcoming Grand High Alpha Awards:)

It has only been a year, but it seems like I’ve known my brothers from my chapter since childhood; I can without a doubt say that going Lambda Chi was one of the best (if not the best) decision in my life. Vir Quisque Vir. We treat you with respect from day one and we actually live up to this. That alone makes us great.
