What a weekend!

Two weeks ago, I had an incredible long weekend beginning with the Fraternity’s Founder’s Day on March 22.  On Founder’s Day, the Educational Foundation hosted an Indianapolis Alumni Reception at the headquarters.  I enjoyed the opportunity to again visit the headquarters - having worked there for five years, I always enjoy “coming home” - and most especially enjoyed reconnecting with brothers I’ve known much of my fraternal life.

On Friday, I flew to Gainesville, FL, at the invitation of Epsilon-Mu Zeta, to observe their spring initiation.  I can’t think of a better time to initiate then at or near the celebration of Founder’s Day.  (In fact, their inititation coincided with my own initiation 31 years earlier.)  I also had the wonderful opportunity to greet into our bond seven new brothers.  And an outstanding group of new brothers at that.

It has been some time since I have had the opportunity to observe a chapter initiation.  E-M can be very proud of the job they did.  It was very obvious to this guest that they take ritual very seriously, which I applaud.  Also in attendance was Doc Dirghalli, past Grand High Alpha and a proud initiate of E-M.  I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, sharing brotherhood with them, and especially enjoyed celebrating the beginning of my 50th birthday with them.

What a great weekend!  Thank you brothers!!
